Goodwin Analysis

Goodwin's theory can highly impact and influence my final product of the music video and by following his codes and conventions I can effectively create a professional and interesting music video. However as a group decision, we concluded that we wanted to challenge his viewpoints of music videos. As a result of challenging many theorists such as Goodwin and stereotypes that are created and followed by many people we wanted to flourish in expressing our creativity and originality when revealing the music video to our audience. The Prezi software and online application offers many advantages such as having the ability to make 3D slides so it would be more eye catching, I can customize my own background and template os it can suit the different and specific presentation that I want to create and the program is very easy to use due to its simplisitc features and tools.

 Another area that should be highlighted is the implementation of this theory and how it applies to my music video. First of all Goodwin's summary 'thought through beat'; we subtly followed this through the representation of the 3 protagonists in the music video such as lyrics relating to our characters. For example some lyrics that can easily portray to the audience are "I'm a woman's man, no time to talk" and "I'm Staying Alive". Linking back to the group choices of costume and body language can create the juxtaposition to the 1970's societal stereotypes of men and their nature to impress women.

Advantages and disadvantages in using Sony Vegas

In this blog post I will be discussing and highlighting the advantages and disadvantages in the editing software (Sony Vegas) that we have been using for editing and producing our music video. Advantages: VEGAS Pro has all the features professional editors need to create their video projects. Tools like chroma key, white balance, image stabilization, stereoscopic 3D editing, multicam editing and masking.  Vegas has built-in interactive tutorials that show you how many of the tools work which will aid new editors and creators. A unique tool in this software is the VEGAS Pro Connect iPad app. The purpose of this app allows you to perform basic desktop functions on your tablet. You can control playback, drop markers and collaborate with other editors who also have the app. Finally the professional video editor also features such as intelligent upscaling; which means that you can take your regular HD footage and upscale it to 4K resolution (which is a much higher resolution). Hyperdermic Needle Theory

The theory states that an intended message is directly received and wholly accepted by the receiver. The model was originally rooted in 1930's behaviourism. The Hypodermic  Theory  suggests that viewers of media content are a passive audience who are powerless to resist the impact of the messages inside the media source. Thus that they do not have any influence on the messages coming out of these media sources; this is a lot like Action Theory, in the way that messages are portrayed and noted by the receiver  of media. In a way it gets injected into audiences, hence why it is called the  hypodermic  needle model. An example of a huge event supporting this model is from the year 1938 whereby people believed there was an alien invasion because the radio version of H.G. Wells "War of the World" was broadcasted across the world.
